Short info about the UAE tourist visa
A tourist visa can be opened both for a vacation period (1-2 weeks) and for longer (30 days with the possibility of an extension for another 30 days). Each visa has a so-called sponsor, namely the company that is responsible for the tourist in the UAE – this can be a travel company, hotel, or airline.
The procedure for obtaining a visa may differ and will depend on the company that is directly involved in issuing the visa. As a rule, you will be asked to provide a scanned page of your passport and a color photograph on a white background. Documents will need to be sent by email. Additionally, they may request other documents and certificates. You may also be asked to pay a deposit. Some companies issue visas only with the obligatory reservation of a hotel and air tickets, while other companies can issue a visa faster and easier, without unnecessary documents and reservations.
UAE Visa Issues
- A UAE tourist visa can be obtained within three working days from the date of submission of all documents to the Immigration Service. However, experts recommend always submitting documents in advance, 15-20 days before the planned date of travel, in case of unexpected document checks at Immigration, especially if there is a possibility of visa refusal.
- The United Arab Emirates has a very simple and fast procedure for obtaining tourist visas, as there is no need to send original documents.
- All registration takes place online and by email. After checking the documents at Immigration, the visa will be sent to you by email in pdf format – this will be an A4 sheet with your photo, information, and visa number.
- The visa indicates the date of receipt and the validity period of the visa. This is where many people make the mistake of assuming that this period means the number of days they can stay in Dubai. This is fundamentally wrong. The validity period indicated on the visa is the entry corridor. UAE Immigration provides each tourist with exactly 60 days from the date of receipt of the visa in order for the person to fly to the UAE. Accordingly, the countdown of the number of days allowed to stay in the United Arab Emirates begins from the moment of crossing the border and is not indicated on the visa, only noted in the electronic system of the Immigration Service.
- The question often arises, what to do if you need to extend your visa? Now it is not possible to extend a tourist visa; you need to fly out and apply for a tourist visa again.
- We would like to note that only the company that issued this visa for you can extend your visa. The cost and procedure for extending a visa may also vary depending on the company. Sometimes the visa sponsor refuses to extend it. This is his right according to the law.
The maximum period of stay in the UAE is 90 calendar days. After this period ends, you will need to leave the country.
