The packages are simple: an annual price that covers company registration in the DSO free zone, a workspace and a visa quota. More than 1,000 start-ups from 70 countries have passed through the campus, and alongside it run acceleration programmes, the Oraseya Capital venture arm and a calendar of events for founders.

Why founders choose DTEC
DTEC is bought not for the square metres but for the environment: community, mentors and investors are built into the price of the desk. Here is what makes up that value.
- Transparent “setup + workspace” packages: a flexi-desk from AED 18,000 in the first year at the official rate
- A visa quota already in the package: 2 visas on a flexi-desk, 3 on a fixed desk
- The largest technology coworking campus in the MENA region: 10,000 m², 1,000+ start-ups, 70 nationalities
- 100% foreign ownership and profit repatriation via the Dubai Silicon Oasis free zone
- Access to accelerators, mentors and the ecosystem’s venture fund — pitches and networking on site
- 24/7 access, meeting rooms, corporate-partner labs and other infrastructure included
Steps to register a company in DTEC
Registration goes through the Dubai Silicon Oasis authority, with DTEC serving as a ready-made office solution. The workflow looks like this.
- Choose a package: flexi-desk, fixed desk or a private office of 12–50 m²
- Select your activity and file the company registration application
- Prepare the documents: passports and CVs of the shareholders and manager, and an attested degree for the visa
- Pay for the annual package and sign the incorporation documents
- Issue the free-zone licence and activate the workspace on campus
- Process residence visas within the quota and open a corporate account
Timelines are comparable to a standard Dubai free-zone registration: from a few days to a couple of weeks for the licence, plus two to three weeks for the visas. It is best to sort out the manager’s attested degree in advance — legalising documents takes time.
Cost of opening a company in DTEC (2026)
DTEC publishes its first-year fees directly on its website — the prices below are taken from the Coworking page. All packages are annual and include company setup and workspace.
| Cost item | Amount, AED | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Flexi Desk: setup + coworking | 18 000 | First year; quota of 2 visas per desk |
| Fixed Desk: setup + assigned desk | 24 200 | First year; quota of 3 visas, locker and landline |
| Private furnished office | from 47,820 | 12–50 m²; 2 visas per workspace |
| Private unfurnished office | from 62,500 | Visa quota based on area |
| Residence visa | on request | Medical and Emirates ID paid separately |
For a solo founder, the first-year budget is the Flexi Desk package plus visa fees. Compared with classic office zones, keep in mind that meeting rooms, internet and infrastructure are already included in the price here.
Taxation in DTEC
DTEC companies register in the Dubai Silicon Oasis free zone and fall under the general UAE regime: 9% corporate tax on profit above AED 375,000 a year, 0% below the threshold. Start-ups selling services abroad and meeting economic-substance requirements can qualify for Qualifying Free Zone Person status with a 0% rate on qualifying income. VAT is 5% and becomes relevant once the turnover threshold is exceeded. Accounting and filing via EmaraTax are mandatory from year one, even with zero revenue.

Who DTEC suits
- Early-stage tech start-ups and solo founders on a limited budget
- Teams for whom mentors, accelerators and investor access matter as much as the licence
- IT projects that need a legal address and visas in Dubai without the cost of a separate office
“DTEC works thanks to honest maths: a single annual price covers the licence, the desk and the visa quota. For a pre-seed start-up, this is the most predictable budget in Dubai”, notes a senior lawyer at Dynasty Business Adviser.
